Building control – NAPC takes care of it all

Ensuring your garden home has planning permission and is built to the right standards is vital. Not only will it mean your annexe is a sound long term investment, but it also means it will be a safe and comfortable living space all year round. So we at Granny Anne were delighted to discover NAPC – the UK’s only specialist annexe and garden room planning and development consultancy.

Fully independent and with a wealth of experience in annexes, mobile homes and garden rooms, NAPC ensures the highest standards of design, construction and delivery.

From sorting out planning permissions (and let’s not underestimate how complex that can be!) to creating architects drawings and handling every aspect of building control, NAPC has worked with over 250 local authorities over 15 years. And in that time they’ve submitted more than 500 garden building applications – so it’s safe to say they know their stuff.

Local Authority Planning Offices can be really helpful and offer lots of good advice. But gaining planning consent can be tricky – and, with so many technical hoops to jump through, the process can become very complicated, very quickly. So we’d always suggest using an independent building control expert to sort everything out for you. You can be sure these will have your best interest at heart and possess the technical knowledge to fight your corner. Some annexe building firms have in-house people who can help, so do shop around. But if you want sound, impartial advice from highly experienced specialists, NAPC is a great option.

The Hatfield granny annexe is a spacious L-shaped annexe with two great sized bedrooms. All three footprints look stunning and are ideal for large corner plots.
The Cantley granny annexe is the smallest annexe in our Core range and is one of our most popular models for independent living. The floorplan is designed to maximise space and fits comfortably into most back gardens.
The Melton Granny Annexe is designed with a master bedroom and a smallersecond bedroom that can be used as a home study if preferred. The ‘Extra Plus’ provides a master bedroom larger than in most new build homes today.
The Wheatley granny annexe is our most popular two-bedroom granny annexe, providing plenty of living space and two good sized bedrooms. This model is a product of valued customer feedback.
All three footprints of the Cadeby granny annexe offer an alternative layout with a central living space and bedrooms at adjacent sides of the annexe. If you love large open-plan living this annexe is the perfect style for you.
The Loversall granny annexe provides plenty of living space and two good sized bedrooms. The ‘Extra Plus’ is one of the most popular annexes within our Core range.

So why would Granny Anne choose NAPC?

NAPC make life simple. At a time when you’re busy talking to builders and choosing your garden annexe, it’s a relief to hand over responsibility for dealing with local authority planning control to a company you can trust to get it right. And, perhaps surprisingly given the tremendous growth in these types of buildings, NAPC is the only name specially created to deal with this side of things.

We were also impressed by NAPC’s vast experience and track record. Of more than 500 garden building applications, they boast a success rate of 93%. It’s a figure that could only have been achieved by combining a thorough knowledge of planning law and an imaginative, problem-solving approach.

Of course gaining planning permission is just the start. NAPC also ensure every annexe building meets the highest of standards of design and construction to deliver a safe, comfortable home that also adds real value.

And it’s good to know NAPC promotes quality standards for the entire garden annexe industry, recognising and supporting architects, designers, quality builders and suppliers who deliver to the NAPC standards so that they can be easily identified and trusted.
